Two
days last week, I had cable problems in my apartment and missed some
information regarding the showcases. Could you please answer the following
questions for me?
1. On Tuesday's (March 4) show, I saw that there was a double overbid,
but I missed the prices of the respective showcases. Could you tell
them to me?
2. On Wednesday's show, a guy named Brian bid on the second showcase
with a Ford F-150 Super Cab. What were the other prizes in his showcase?
What were the bids and actual retail prices of both showcases. Who
won as a result? Bob Barker has always been my television idol and
I will never stop watching him until he leaves the show!!
Thank you for your attentiveness,
Marc |

On
3/4, the "Trips" showcase retailed for $15,600. The "Trailer" showcase
totaled $17,071. On Wednesday, 3/5, Brian bid on the 2nd showcase
which included a Spiderman DVD, a Marantz DVD/CD changer, a Panasonic
Color TV, a trip to New York City and a Ford F-150 truck. He bid $28,000.
The actual total was $33,639.75. Holly bid $14,369 on the 1st showcase,
which totaled $17,861, and was that day's showcase winner. |

Love
the game!!! On the show that aired on February 14, there was a Ford
Escort as one of the prizes. Ford has not made these cars for several
years. Was that a new car or a used car? If it was new, what model
year was it? I also saw one again the other day. I am curious.
Thanks,

On
the Feb. 14 episode, two Ford Focuses were given away in the 2nd showcase.
They were 2003 models, and were furnished through Star Ford of Glendale,
California. |

My
friend and I have a little wager on The Price Is Right knowledge.
We were wondering if Plinko has always been a grand total of $50,000.
I think that the total winnings used to be $25,000 and he says that
it has always been $50,000. We are looking for the correct answer,
can you help us out.
Thank You
Kevin, Ohio |
 |
You
are right. It was, at one time, $25,000. |
 |
Does
Price still play "Joker" or has that game been retired? I haven't
seen the game in a long time.
Thanks,
tony sadewater |
 |
We
still play "Joker" but not as often as other games. |
 |
s
it true that a little old woman was spinning the wheel and slid under
it into the wall? I thought I saw an episode of TPIR where Bob was
talking about that.
Thanks,
SHANNA |
 |
That
was a joke! |
 |
How
come The Price Is Right has not played the Hole in One game in a while? |
 |
We
play Hole In One about once every 3 to 4 weeks. |
 |
Whatever
happened to the Super Ball Game? I love show been watching for almost
all of 31 years. I remember when you only got $100 for a perfect bid
(from Bob's $100 pocket, if you were a female) or from Bob if you
were a man. I also remember when it was a Mark Goodson-Bill Todman
Production etc. Keep up the good work and I'll keep watching. Thanks. |
 |
Super
Ball has been retired. |
 |
I
was wondering if you could tell me how many times in the history of
the show has an individual won both showcases in the showcase showdown?
Thank you,
Big fans, The Schelb family. |
 |
About
95 times. |
 |
Could
you tell me how often Golden Road or Triple Play is played? Also,
has Hi-Lo been retired? Thanks!
Daniel |
 |
Golden
Road and Triple Play are played about once every three weeks. HiLo
has not been retired.

Does
the contestant win the 3 prizes on the pricing game Line 'em Up or
are the 3 prizes just for advertising? |
 |
If
the contestant wins the car, he also wins the three prizes. |
 |
My
girlfriend and I are having a debate. I swear that when I was younger
there were 6 contestants on Contestants Row. She says it has always
been 4. Please settle this for us.
Thank you,
Scott |
 |
It
has always been four, although we have a total of six contestants
that come up on stage. |
 |
understand that Superball has been retired permanently, and that it
won't be returning. I was wondering if you could tell us why it has
been retired?
Thanks,
Dan |
 |
It
was simply a decision made by the producers. |
 |
I
was wondering if someone could tell me the type of microphone Mr.
Barker uses (the long skinny silver one) and where one might purchase
one. Thank you. |
 |
It
is made especially for Mr. Barker. |

I've
been watching The Price is Right for the past 20 years. I have two
questions. First, what is the closest anyone has come to bidding the
exact price on their own showcase and second, I also notice that I
really don't see any foreign cars offered on the show. Is there a
reason why? Thanks a lot!! |
 |
One
dollar is the closest someone bid to their showcase. We have not given
away foreign cars in years. We only offer American made cars. |
 |
My
husband and I were watching the evening show and he said that a soap
opera star hosted for a while. All he could tell me was that he "thought"
he played a cop. Help! I am dying to know. |

Doug
Davidson who portrays Paul Williams on The Young and the Restless
