I
have been a fan of TPIR for over 15 years. I watch the show as often
as possible. I have several question that I am curious to know.
1. What percentage of fees and taxes are US contestants required to
pay?
2. Is this amount due at the end of the show or prior to shipment
date?
3. Is the winning contestant responsible for shipping cost? |
 |
Contestants
on The Price Is Right are subject to California State Tax and
Federal Tax. The prize winnings are taxable as earned income and therefore
vary with each contestant. Taxes are paid when contestants file their
tax returns for the applicable tax year. Contestants do not pay the
shipping of their prizes. |

Could
you please tell me when the first show of the 2002-2003 season will
be aired on TV? Thank you! |

I
have a few questions regarding the showcase showdown at the end of
the show. First off, to win both showcases, did the difference used
to be $100, then changed to $500, and currently $250? Also, what would
be the ruling if both contestants had a difference of, say, $200 or
something like that? Would you guys have to shell out four showcases?
Thanks. |
 |
On
the daytime show, it used to be within $100. A contestant now can
win both showcases if he/she is $250 or less away from the actual
price of the showcase. If both contestants are the same amount away
from his/her showcase & are $250 or less away from his/her showcase,
then we do have to "shell out" four showcases. It has never happened! |

I
saw a person on one of your shows wearing a price is right hat. I
was wondering if he had that made or if you sell them somewhere. If
you sell them I was curious if there is a way I could by one, even
though I live in Iowa. Money is no issue.

The
hat is available through the CBS online
store at CBS.com. |
 |
I
saw a playhouse on the other day around 7/2/2002 and lost the website.
Can you direct me to the right website? Very interested. |

The
playhouse is made by English Garden Buildings. You can find this item

On
today's show, one of the companies featured Hawaiian flowers with
an 800 telephone number with the word FARM. I was wondering if I could
have the number, I would like to be able to order tropical flowers
from this nursery if possible. Thank you. |
 |
The
phone number for Big island Tropical Flowers Farms is 1-800-32FARMS. |

I
would like to know where to purchase the $600 bid CD rack from the
morning show aired July 5th, 2002. Also, is there a way to get a list
of sponsors to find back prizes or do you just need to monitor the
show and write in each time? Thank you.

The
CD rack that you inquired about in the below question was made by

On
the Price is Right, they awarded as a prize a glider rocker that I
have been searching for the company that makes them...Town Square.
Is there a possibility that you could give me a source? If you could
help I would really appreciate it! |
 |
The
glider rocker you inquired about in the below question was made by
Towne Square Furniture and can be located at www.gliderrocker.com. |

You
recently had an above ground swimming pool featured on your telecast.
It looked like 3-4 rings, each indented a little. My wife thought
there was an elephant in the commercial. Can't find it on internet.
Could you send me description of product?
Thanks-- Theodore B. Scott |

The
pool you are looking for is made by Doughboy. You can locate it on
the internet at www.doughboy-pools.com. This model is the 18-ft model
and the retail is $2,200. |

During
the primetime show with Navy participants, a model walked to the bidding
contestants wearing a pearl and gold necklace. Where can this be purchased? |

I
watched the show this morning & there was a prize that was a glass
shelf with the water bubble columns on each side. I think the product
was made from Midwest Suncoast, Inc. I'm not real sure though. Could
you please tell me how I would find this product to purchase it? |

Hello,
I saw on your show about a month ago or so, an adult three wheeled
bicycle. It was really cool looking and since I cannot ride a two-wheel
bike, due to hearing trouble, would like to be able to find out more
about it. Any help that I can get from you would be great. Thanks
in advance for your help. |
 |
The
bicycle that you inquired about in the below question is made by Worksman
Trading Corporation. I am not sure which model you saw, but we have
three tricycle models. The models we have are the Adultlite Trike
Model #ALT2F, PAV3 Adult Tricycle and the V-ICT Ice Cream Tricycle.
You can locate these items at www. Worksman.com. |

have searched your web site but it is not up to date regarding Rod.
Where is he??? I miss him and his wonderful jackets. I certainly hope
that he is not gone for good but also hope that he is not ill. Looking
forward to your response.

The
show is airing some repeats taped when Rod was out ill last fall and
Burton Richardson was filling in. |

Can
you please settle an argument for my husband and I so I can prove
him wrong ... again!! He says in the final showcase that when you
are $250.00 away from the actual price or less you win both showcases.
I agree with that. That is how the show is today. However, we disagree
on what it was before $250.00. I know it used to be $500.00 and he
claims it used to be $100.00. Can you please settle this for us?
Thanks, Karen |
 |
It
is now $250 or less but it used to be within $100 and the contestant
would win both showcases. It has never been within $500 for the daytime
show. |
 |
My
question is has this ever happened - when the three contestants are
spinning the big wheel and all three get $1? |
 |
Yes,
all three contestants have hit a $1.00 in the wheel & two contestants
have hit the $10,000. |
